Reverend Julius Collins has confirmed Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, Ellenville will be a participant in the “Ellenville Garden Village” project. Although the church stands in two acres of grounds, Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church has allocated for organic vegetable cultivation in 2019 a half-acre plot of land at a nearby residence of which the church is proprietor, on Broadhead Street, Ellenville.

PROJECT STATUS
March 18, 2015: Project presentation given and participation approved.
March 25, 2015: John visited Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church and assessed the cultivation potential of the church grounds. The church grounds were considered unsuitable for vegetable cultivation, and the alternate site at Broadhead Street was offered.
March 26, 2015: Donation of vegetable seeds received.
May 27, 2015: John informed Reverend Julius Collins of postponement to 2016 of the garden’s cultivation, due to a lack of volunteer commitment.
September 11, 2015: John designed the vegetable garden, as reviewed and approved by Reverend Julius Collins and Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church congregation members.
May 22, 2016: A contract of cultivation works was agreed between John and Reverend Julius Collins. Works at Broadhead Street were postponed to 2018, due to the withdrawal of 2016 volunteer commitment.
December 1, 2017: Works at this site were postponed to 2019, due to insufficient volunteer commitment.
